Whether you are pregnant, preparing to give birth, or you are already settled in at home with your new baby, our team of experienced doulas will understand your physical and emotional needs and be able to meet you where you are and ensure you get the support structure that meets the needs of your growing family. Uptown Doula is able to provide a wide range of services starting with labor support up to and including sleep coaching for your newest addition.

I started my career, working with families when I opened my babywearing store, The Cozy Kangaroo. I became a Certified Babywearing Educator and since then I have helped over 1,000 families learn the art of babywearing. My love for supporting families eventually evolved into wanting to support families through pregnancy, during labor, and the postpartum period.

Our trained and highly experienced birth and postpartum doulas are here to help navigate you through your pregnancy all the way through your fourth trimester. Our attention to detail and quality support we provide growing Charlotte families is unlike anything you’ll find. We not only bring a sense of calm and serenity to your birth room, we are also with you during your fourth trimester and you welcome your baby into the world and navigate parenthood.

Our labor doulas will support you and your partner through your pregnancy as you prepare to bring your new baby into the world. We will provide you with two prenatal visits where we will dive deep into your birth wishes to create a customize, detailed and concise birth plan that matches up with your ideal birth experience. You will be equipped with all the right tools in place for when the big day arrives to meet your baby. Uptown Doula is well versed in hospital protocols, interventions, medications and comfort techniques and we will make sure you are prepared before walking into the birth room.

Your postpartum doula is there for you and your family when you need them most. We are available to you for as little as 4 hours or as much as 24 hours. Overnight care is also an option for when mom and dad really need a good night’s sleep. When baby wakes in the middle of the night, we are happy to feed them or bring them to you if you need to nurse. We offer breastfeeding support and stay with you if you need to pump. This allows parents to easily fall back asleep because you know your child is in the best care. When you choose Uptown Doula for your postpartum care, we build a customized care plan for your lifestyle. We provide professional, expert support and hands-on-experience to care for your family.

If you’ve never heard of placenta encapsulation and have been curious to know more about it, you’ve come to the right place. The art of placenta encapsulation is the process in which the woman’s placenta is dehydrated and transformed into a crushed powder which is later placed into capsules for consumption. The scientific studies and research done on this process has been incredible and mother’s who ingest their own placenta are seeing amazing results! Some of these results include: Increased milk production, increased energy levels, decreased postpartum depression and many have experienced a speedier recovery.

Sleep training: Haley is professional and excellent at her job. I recommend anyone to call and book her as soon as you are able. I wish we would have called months sooner…you can read all of the books, ask all of your friends, but having Haley in your home to trouble shoot and monitor your baby and or toddler for you is invaluable. She is also a wonderful house guest – I was concerned about having a person I had never met in my home for 3 days and nights, but she is warm but with good boundaries, friendly but not overly talkative, straight forward but in a kind way, and patient beyond measure…a balanced and wonderful person to have doing this tedious job. Our baby was sleeping through the night and napping beautifully and on a schedule by day 3 and Rose, our toddler had HUGE breakthroughs in staying in her bed and in her room without one of us present. Getting our toddler to change habits was the hardest and I am certain we could not have stuck to the plan without Haley present. She also continued to be very present and supportive for follow up and questions the following weeks. This is an investment in the rest of your life – I can now lay my baby down for nap and bedtime, say goodnight and walk out of the room without worrying or feeling stressed because he gets himself to sleep. I will add that our children are much more rested and happier now also! She works hard for you and your whole family, but makes it feel like she is a kind friend along for the journey.

Haley is such a joy and a ray of sunshine during the struggles of postpartum. I used her for her placenta encapsulation services. She educated me on the process and benefits of encapsulating my placenta for postpartum recovery. She showed up to my house on time and ready to get to work. It was fun watching the process in the comfort of my own Home and kitchen! She explained to me what she was doing in each step and it was really quite interesting. She was also there to answer any questions I had about my newborn and being a first time mom. When she was done she cleaned up my kitchen and it was looking better after she was done than it did before! I will definitely be using Haley for our next child and I could not recommend her more!
